Home Energy Tune-up Inspections (for home owners or at time of whole house inspection)
Trained and certified to offer the only energy inspection program that has been developed for home inspectors – the program is called Home Energy Tune-uP and it's a service that is designed to identify the energy condition of your home. Once the energy inspection has been performed by our home inspector, a report will be issued based on the specific needs of your home to make it more energy efficient, including analyzing all of the major systems in the home, such as the heating and cooling systems, and also major appliances [refrigerator, washer/dryer] as well. The report will make recommendations on how much insulation is needed, whether or not you should upgrade your windows and whatever else can be done to reduce your home's energy costs. Every energy efficiency opportunity is explained and listed in a table that is prioritized in terms of what is cost-effective and what is not. The approximate cost of installing the upgrades and more importantly, the projected savings from installing the measures is also detailed. That way, you'll know what to install and how soon it will pay for itself. Basically it is a roadmap for you to start saving money on your energy bills for the entire time you live in the home and with energy prices continuing to increase every year, it will increase your home's resale value as well when you sell it! See also http://www.hometuneup.com for more information. There is a cost savings for this service if done in conjunction with a whole house inspection. Well worth it no matter when it is done!
